WHY USE ICE MELTS

Ice Melts are great for keeping your home or business free of snow and ice. Ice melt blends (usually a mix of sodium chloride, calcium chloride, or magnesium chloride) lower the freezing point of water. The ice melt forms a liquid brine solution, which can generate heat and melt the ice.

WHEN TO USE ICE MELTS

Most people wait until after a storm hits to use ice melt. However, it is best to lay down ice melt before a storm hits. This way the ice melt keeps snow from freezing to your sidewalk or driveway which makes it much easier to get your snow shovel under the snow to remove the snow.

HOW MUCH TO USE

Generally, people use much more ice melt than is needed. Make sure to follow the directions on the bag so you use the correct amount for your area.
